EAST TYROL, YOUR MOUNTAIN TYROL

East Tyrol has the densest network of huts in the Alps: the hiker can choose from 650 in all to start or end his hike or for an overnight stage. East Tyrol's mountain scenery is equal to none as far as variety goes, with the highest peaks of Austria's Central Alps in the Hohe Tauern National Park, the rocky massif of the mountains between the Isel and the Drau and the jagged formations of the Lienz Dolomites.

The central starting point for all areas, valleys and mountains in East Tyrol is Lienz. To make it easier for our hiking friends to pick the right tour we have a selection of routes and their descriptions at the reception desk. We also have installed for you an 'infotheque' with hiking maps, books and information on the region and its cultural and historical attractions.
